Guardian Node Requirements

This document outlines the hardware, software, and staking requirements for operating a Guardian Node.

Hardware Requirements

Guardian nodes require high-performance CPU infrastructure to support backtesting engines and compute-intensive strategy validation workloads.

Compute

CPU (High-Performance Focus)

  • Cores: 16-32 cores
  • Base Clock: 3.5+ GHz
  • Boost Clock: 4.5+ GHz
  • Recommended Processors: AMD Ryzen Threadripper or Intel Xeon W-series

RAM

  • Specification: 128 GB DDR4/DDR5 ECC RAM
  • Purpose: Running multiple backtesting instances simultaneously

GPU

  • Specification: None required (CPU-focused workloads)

Storage

  • Specification: 2-4 TB NVMe SSD for backtesting data and strategy files

Networking

  • Bandwidth: 1 Gbps+ symmetric fiber
  • Latency: <50ms to major hubs
  • Static IP: Required

Power and Cooling

  • Power Supply: 850W+ redundant (80+ Gold/Platinum)
  • UPS: 30+ minutes runtime
  • Cooling: CPU <75°C under load

Estimated Costs

  • Initial Investment: $5,000 - $8,000
  • Monthly Operating Costs: $200 - $350
